Sculpt's COVID-19 Survival tips.



With widespread panic sweeping the globe and people convincing themselves it's the end of the world as we know it, we thought it would be good to give you the heads up on how to survive the Coronavirus pandemic, but more importantly, not get sucked in to the hysteria that has people stock piling loo roll and pasta and ultimately feeding the hysteria which is way more infectious and way more harmful than the virus itself.


1. Start Training Now.

One of my contacts in the government has confirmed that 80% of the UK population will contract the virus at some stage. Unofficially, this 80% is the population that are mostly sedentary and that do not train. The 20% who will not contract the virus are those of us that train regularly and who's immune systems have been hardened due to being in germ rich environments such as gyms on a regular basis. So if you are part of our 20%, fear not.

If you are part of the 80%, I suggest you start training and toughening up your immune system in a fun and enjoyable way and in doing so, make you less likely to be infected.


2. Business as usual.

Wherever possible, continue about your day as you would any other day. Giving into the mass hysteria is more harmful than the virus itself. If you train regularly, keep training. Go to the shops after work and buy food for dinner like you would any other day. Try and keep to your normal routine. If you are completely healthy, there is almost zero chance of you catching or passing on the infection, so keep your day as normal as possible. The bright side is that with most people freaking out, the gym is pretty much empty so you won't have to wait to use any machines and you don't have to deal with crowds. It's great.


3. If you look for fear, you'll find it.

It's easy to get caught up in fear especially when you go shopping only to find a lot of the shelves empty. Fear is more infectious than the virus so don't give in to it. If what you normally eat isn't on the shelf, take this opportunity to try something new that you have never tried before. It's understandable to be concerned, but don't let your fear turn you into a stress ball of anxiety.


4. Stay hydrated.

Your immune system is very reliant on your hydration so ensure you stay hydrated and keep your immune system strong. It also doesn't hurt to pay your alphabet a visit by taking Vitamins A, B, C, D and Echinacea. Stay fit and healthy, but most importantly, stay calm.


5. Be neighbourly.

If you have elderly neighbours and they know you, offer a helping hand. Offer to get them things like milk and tea or bread the next time you run to the shop. Not only are you doing a good deed, but this task driven visit will distract you from the hysteria and in doing so, will help you stick to point 3 of this blog. So it's a win win.


There is no denying that the Coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic is serious and it's understandable to be nervous and it's good to be cautious, but not when this caution mutates into fear and anxiety. Take care, stay fit and remember, keep training and we will beat this virus together.
